Osborne and Richardson is seeking a Senior QA Officer for an established FMCG food manufacturer in the Ormeau region, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will own food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality on site, leading audits, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with production, suppliers and customers to build a safety-first culture and drive QA projects, including digitisation and barcoding.

Qualificações

• 5+ years' experience in quality assurance or quality control within food manufacturing.
• Experience managing high-profile customers is preferred.
• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent food safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee HACCP, SQF and GMP certifications and maintain compliance.
• Manage site audits, including quarterly customer audits and CAPA closure.
• Lead quality checks, pre-operational inspections and environmental sampling.
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and quality deviations.
• Coordinate production trials and customer documentation.
• Deliver on-site food safety training and participate in HACCP team activities.
• Drive improvement projects including QA barcoding and digitisation.
• Represent QA in leadership meetings and support production teams.

About the company

Our client is a growing, established FMCG food manufacturer based in Ormeau, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Food safety and quality are at the heart of everything they do, and the business supplies high-profile customers.

About the role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Senior QA Officer will own food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality on site. You'll oversee audits, training, documentation and continuous improvement, and work closely with production, suppliers and customers to build a safety-first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain HACCP, SQF and GMP certifications
• Manage site audits, including quarterly customer audits, and close out corrective actions on time
• Lead daily, weekly and monthly quality checks, including pre-operational inspections, product testing, hygiene checks and environmental sampling
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and quality deviations, and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate production trials, first production runs and customer documentation
• Respond to customer quality concerns and specifications, process credit requests and manage supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs)
• Deliver on-site food safety training and serve as an active HACCP team member
• Drive improvement projects, including QA barcoding and digitisation
• Represent QA in leadership meetings and work closely with production and operations

About you

• 5+ years' experience in quality assurance or quality control within food manufacturing
• Proven experience managing high-profile customers
• A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent food safety experience
• Strong working knowledge of quality management systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, and a proactive, safety-first mindset
• Experience in chilled and ready-to-eat food manufacturing is highly regarded
