Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service seeks a hands-on Senior QA Automation Engineer to shape quality across digital services and help evolve our automation framework while guiding teams to embed testing from the outset.

This role offers location flexibility across Haymarket, Parramatta or Gosford with hybrid work (1-2 days in office). You’ll partner with product teams, accessibility and security colleagues to uplift testing standards and deliver reliable, inclusive software for NSW.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Playwright or similar modern automation frameworks.
• Strong API and UI test automation capabilities.
• Experience building or contributing to reusable automation frameworks and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable automation capabilities across API and UI testing.
• Enhance automation frameworks and improve developer experience.
• Build and improve CI/CD integrations for fast quality feedback.
• Mentor engineers and influence testing strategies across teams.
• Collaborate with accessibility, security and other stakeholders.
