Job summary

Correlate Resources Pty in Sydney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the North Sydney engineering team. The role is hands-on, requiring strong Python and AWS skills to own the full software lifecycle, from design to production and ongoing improvement.

You will work across API development, data platforms and cloud infrastructure, delivering scalable solutions for enterprise customers globally. The ideal candidate has solid Python experience, AWS depth and production API capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Experience designing, developing and supporting production APIs.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI or similar.
• Strong backend software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with relational databases and data-intensive applications.
• Experience owning applications through full lifecycle.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support capability.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing and modern engineering practices.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance production-grade applications and services using Python.
• Develop and enhance APIs within an AWS cloud environment.
• Contribute to solution architecture and technical design decisions.
• Work across AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, Aurora, Redshift and OpenSearch.
• Build integrations between applications, APIs, databases and data platforms.
• Work with large-scale, multi-source datasets and data-driven applications.
• Take ownership from initial problem definition through to production deployment.
• Identify opportunities to re-engineer and improve existing systems for scalability, performance and reliability.
• Own production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response and root cause analysis.
• Provide second-level technical support for applications and production issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews and engineering standards.
• Work closely with product, engineering and broader business stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions.
