Job summary

The Senior Security Adviser role in Canberra supports protective security across PM&C and portfolio agencies. You will lead the personnel security team, manage day-to-day operations, reporting, rostering, and procurement activities, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain robust security controls.

Qualifications

• Experience leading personnel security teams and coordinating security clearances.
• Ability to report, review processes and rostering for personnel security.
• Strong written and verbal communication with broad audiences.
• Understanding of risk standards and contemporary security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small personnel security team to coordinate security clearances.
• Provide high quality administrative and office support, including rostering and client service.
• Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Advise stakeholders at all levels on personnel security matters.
• Interpret Protective Security arrangements per PSPF guidance.
• Review and develop personnel security policies when required.
• Lead implementation of approved security controls and procedures.
• Deliver security awareness training for the department and portfolio agencies.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as directed.
