Job summary

National Measurement Institute is seeking a Project Scientist for the CRV team in Sydney. You will support proficiency testing programs, prepare reference materials, and maintain quality standards (ISO17043/17025/17034) while liaising with clients and preparing detailed reports.

The role requires a chemistry background, analytical chemistries experience, and strong data analysis skills; on-site work with potential for stakeholder engagement and publications.

Qualifications

• A degree in chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience in analytical chemistry, familiarity with qNMR is desirable.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17043, 17025 quality standards.
• Strong understanding of statistics and measurement uncertainty.
• High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Excellent written and oral communication for technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organising PT rounds, including planning and sample preparation.
• Coordinate participant communications and logistics (despatch, permits).
• Perform data analysis, statistical evaluation and scoring.
• Produce detailed technical reports and liaise with clients.
