Job summary

The Department of Health in Victoria seeks a Senior Project Officer to lead the Nationally Funded Centres Secretariat transition for 2026-27 and oversee intergovernmental funding planning across states and territories. The role requires strong budgets, payments and stakeholder-management skills to support decision-making.

Based in Victoria, you will work within Intergovernmental Relations, engaging with Commonwealth and state counterparts to implement funding arrangements and briefing materials.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to consult, liaise with and influence stakeholders; develop detailed project plans with defined objectives and actions.
• Experience in corporate support functions with high-level expertise on complex issues.
• Ability to identify and respond to risks through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and develop Cabinet and Cabinet-related material, Ministerial and Secretary briefings and meeting papers.
• Develop advice for internal and external stakeholders and coordinate reporting products, briefings and correspondence to inform decision-making at multiple levels.
• Engage with department and Victorian Government stakeholders, and with Commonwealth, states and territories.
• Support analysis, coordination and advice on national health funding arrangements and cross-jurisdictional funding matters.
• Contribute to intergovernmental reporting or briefing requirements as needed.
