Job description

Your strong skills in research, analysis and stakeholder consultation, combined with your experience in public policy and legislative environments, will be critical to your success in this role.

Key responsibilities

• You will prepare research supporting the development of legislation and respond to Executive and Ministerial enquiries.
• As the Senior Project Officer you will join a dynamic and high-performing team responsible for bringing about legislative reform.
• Drawing on your experience in developing policy or legislation, research and stakeholder engagement, you will play a key role in shaping legislative reform, influencing policy direction, and supporting the delivery of Government priorities.
• You will bring to the team your expertise in developing high-quality policy and legislation advice and coordinating complex submissions, along with your ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

What you need

• To be eligible for fixed term employment you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia or have a valid visa to live and work in Australia for the duration of the fixed term employment at the time of application.
• To work for LGIRS, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start.
• Demonstrated experience in the development of policy or legislation aligned to public interest.
