The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.
The Mobility Transformation Portfolio is responsible for delivering SAPOL’s flagship mobility program, the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP). The MWP equips employees with personally issued mobile devices that provide full frontline operational capability, enabling greater mobility, responsiveness, and access to information in the field. This program represents a significant multi-year, enterprise-wide transformation initiative that is reshaping SAPOL’s technology landscape and future workplace. Through the delivery of modern, integrated, and user-centric technology solutions, the Branch is enhancing operational effectiveness, improving workforce mobility, and enabling next-generation policing capabilities across the organisation.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of major ICT transformation initiatives across SAPOL's Mobile Workforce Transformation Portfolio. Working closely with Program Managers, the Portfolio Coordinator and key stakeholders, you will provide governance, reporting, communications, planning and portfolio coordination support to ensure effective program and project delivery. The role includes coordinating governance activities, facilitating stakeholder communications, supporting portfolio planning and scheduling, preparing reports and briefings, maintaining project documentation and records, and contributing to continuous improvement in project management practices. Through informed analysis and effective coordination, you will strengthen governance and support the successful delivery of portfolio priorities and organisational outcomes.
