Job summary

Tate is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead data centre infrastructure projects from inception to delivery. You will coordinate executives, delivery teams, and partners to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes while managing risks and stakeholder expectations.

The role requires a decade-plus of construction PM experience, strong leadership and commercial acumen, and a track record in data centres or mission-critical environments. NSW-based, on-site with a growing subcontractor network.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge (AS 4000, D&C or similar).
• Proven ability to deliver large, complex, fast-paced projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• High-level WHS, QA, and project controls understanding.
• Experience in data centres, mission-critical environments, or Tier-1/2 contractor environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple concurrent construction projects from tender award to completion.
• Define project strategy, methodology, and delivery plans in alignment with client requirements.
• Provide direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontracted teams.
• Ensure project milestones, programme dates, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
• Oversee procurement, long-lead items, logistics, and resource planning.
• Set and manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost control processes.
• Oversee variations, claims, EOTs, and commercial negotiations.
• Ensure contracts and subcontracts are executed within risk parameters and company standards.
• Work closely with the commercial team to maximise project profitability and mitigate risk.
• Act as the primary senior point of contact for builders, consultants, and key clients.
• Drive positive relationships, repeat business, and client satisfaction.
• Manage communications, reporting, and escalation of critical issues.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers, Engineers, and site personnel.
• Lead recruitment, workforce planning, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
• Build a strong, collaborative culture focused on safety, quality, and accountability.
• Champion WHS standards and ensure compliance with legislation and company systems.
• Oversight of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, commissioning, and handover documentation.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews.
• Contribute to business growth, capability development, and process optimisation.
• Support tender submissions, methodology development, and high-level programming.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, system improvement, and innovation.
