Job summary

FKG Construction in Newcastle, NSW, seeks a Senior Project Manager/Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from site to delivery. Based on-site across Newcastle and regional NSW, you will manage projects between $10M and $80M, mentor teams, and maintain client relationships to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant practical experience delivering commercial construction projects between $10M - $80M.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a similar field.
• Advanced level knowledge of WHS regulations and practices on construction sites.
• Proficiency with construction management software (e.g. Jobpac).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts.
• Well developed understanding of construction processes and challenges.
• Highly developed organisational, time management and prioritising skills.
• High emotional intelligence.

The Role

An opportunity exists for a Senior Project Manager / Project Manager to join our team. You will be based on-site working between our Newcastle office and various project sites in the Northern/Central NSW region.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your key responsibilities include:

• Oversee all phases of commercial construction projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and on budget;
• Lead and mentor project teams, including subcontractors, fostering a collaborative work environment;
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication to understand their needs and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle;
• The development and implementation of the project program;
• Establishment and maintenance of an accurate cost control system including the project budget and forecasting; and
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the below;

• Relevant practical experience in delivering commercial construction projects between $10M - $80M;
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a similar field;
• Advanced level knowledge of the application of WHS regulations and practices as relevant to construction sites;
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g. Jobpac);
• An exceptional level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
• High level knowledge of construction contracts;
• Well developed knowledge of the construction process and common challenges;
• Highly developed organisational, time management and prioritising skills; and
• Highly developed emotional intelligence.
