Job summary

Bayside City Council in Sandringham is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver end-to-end building projects from inception to handover. You will manage stakeholders, budgets and quality in line with the Council's Framework.

The role offers hybrid work arrangements, a competitive salary band, and strong leave and wellbeing programs as part of a supportive, diverse workplace. You will contribute to safe, accessible community infrastructure and services.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or relevant qualification or extensive industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in delivering complex building projects and capital work programs.
  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement, preferably in local government.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with project teams, sponsors, community groups and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously to deliver projects within the capital buildings team.

Employment Status: Permanent, full time
Days & Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, totalling 38 hours per week
Competitive Salary: Band 7 - $118,508 - $132,759 p.a. (depending on experience) + 12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home as projects allow

About the Role:

You will provide end to end Project Management services on a variety of building projects from inception right through to hand over, providing excellent stakeholder management skills.

You will be responsible for:

  • Project Delivery - Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality outcomes and in accordance with the Project Management Framework.
  • Engage successfully with stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Deliver projects successfully in accordance with contract conditions including all legislative requirements.
  • OH&S - Ensure Council buildings and infrastructure provide safe and healthy environments for all users and the public.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or relevant qualification or extensive industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in delivering complex building projects and capital work programs.
  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement, preferred in a local government setting.
  • Excellent skills and experience in stakeholder management (internal and external) with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, project sponsors, community groups and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously to deliver the projects within the capital buildings team.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Valid Construction White Card.
