Job summary

Transgrid, a leading energy infrastructure company in Australia, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to deliver the project management function for Delivery Projects. You will oversee governance, risk management, controls, and reporting, reporting to the Project Delivery Manager and collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in engineering or related field.
• PM qualification at diploma to degree level is desirable.
• Extensive experience managing large capital HV substations and/or transmission line projects.
• Strong business and commercial acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in leadership roles and team management.
• Experience in contract management and customer negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead project elements to deliver on budget, quality, schedule and commercial outcomes.
• Manage risk, quality, resources, communications, procurement and cost control.
• Support project planning and schedule management, including monitoring performance.
• Support implementation of project risk management framework and monitoring.
• Provide reports and submissions on project performance to the Project Delivery Manager.
• Coordinate third-party interfaces and stakeholder engagement across workstreams.
• Establish and manage contracts, negotiate with contractors, monitor performance.
• Identify innovative ways to deliver the program more efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Contribute to performance and development plans and foster a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with financial, audit and regulatory reporting obligations.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will deliver the project management function for Transgrid's Delivery Projects, in accordance with Transgrid policies and procedures spanning project governance and assurance, risk management, project controls (schedule and cost), and project tracking and reporting.

Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, you will support their engagement with Transgrid's Executive Leadership Team, providing visibility of project status, performance and plans. You will be a critical link ensuring effective collaboration between the Transgrid business and Lumea, and you'll help implement the project management framework in coordination with Transgrid's PMO function.

You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualification at degree level in engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Project Management qualification at diploma, advanced diploma or degree level (desirable).
• Extensive experience managing large capital High Voltage Substations and/or Transmission Lines projects.
• High-level business and commercial acumen.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in team management, resource management and leadership roles.
• Experience in contract management and negotiation, directing field construction teams, and negotiating project scope, cost, schedule and risk with customers.
