About Us

EPEC Group is a nationally recognised high-voltage engineering and EPC partner, providing HV power engineering, EPC (for substations, lines and BESS BoP), testing and compliance services, along with market modelling, SCADA and Hardware-in-the-Loop capability.

Since being founded in 2019, EPEC has grown rapidly to become a trusted delivery partner on some of Australia’s most complex renewable energy projects, from 400 MW solar farms and 200 MW battery storage systems to 330 kV substations delivered for international developers entering the Australian market for the first time. Founded by specialists in power system engineering, project delivery and generator compliance, our mission is to simplify the grid connection process and remove the uncertainty that costs projects time and money.

We manage connections to the National Electricity Market (NEM) through end-to-end solutions, from pre-enquiry through to connection, registration, testing, compliance and commercial operations. What sets EPEC apart is that everything is delivered in-house: power system modelling, EPC construction, SCADA, commissioning and compliance testing, all under one roof and one point of accountability.

The Role

EPEC Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects across our renewable energy portfolio, including high voltage substations, transmission lines and BESS works. Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead project teams from proposal through to completion, ensuring delivery stays aligned with client objectives, timelines and budgets while maintaining EPEC's standards for quality and safety.

This is a senior, client-facing role that combines strategic project leadership with hands‑on delivery oversight, and provides direction and mentorship to project administrators and wider project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, proposals, deliverables, timelines and resource allocation strategies.
  • Take ownership of project scope, objectives and success criteria in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead the proposal process, including specification reviews, to deliver competitive and accurate bids.
  • Spearhead risk assessments and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Lead project estimations and budget planning during the proposal phase.
  • Provide strategic leadership to project teams, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to a high quality standard.
  • Oversee project schedules, resource allocation and budget management.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to resolve issues and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver high-level reporting on project status, milestones, risks and corrective actions.
  • Lead stakeholder collaboration to define project requirements and manage expectations.
  • Take ownership of project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance.
  • Support the development of project staff through mentoring, coaching and performance reviews.
  • Lead WH&S obligations and identify hazards relevant to the workplace.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • General Construction Induction.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in the delivery of high voltage substations, transmission lines and renewable projects.
  • High-level knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage ambiguity and work effectively under pressure.
  • PMP certification or equivalent, and additional certifications in risk or contract management, are highly regarded but not essential.
