SSI SCHAEFER is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its Projects Realisation team, based in Sydney or Melbourne, delivering complex warehouse automation and material handling systems across Australia and New Zealand.

You will own the technical engineering and system integration from contract award through detailed engineering, installation, commissioning and handover, coordinating mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines to ensure a fully integrated, safe and operable

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years local experience in this field.
• Experience in project engineering, systems engineering, automation engineering, mechanical systems integration.
• Experience developing or coordinating integrated engineering layouts, equipment interfaces and documentation.
• Exposure to automated systems, industrial equipment and material handling environments.
• Experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and customers.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, layouts and system requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD.

Responsabilités

• Overall engineering design and technical coordination of complex warehouse automation and material handling projects.
• Development and coordination of integrated system layouts with conveyors, automated equipment, steelwork and third-party systems.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical and other engineering disciplines to ensure a complete solution.
• Review technical designs, drawings and specs to identify clashes and risks.
• Ensure layouts consider safety, maintenance access and building constraints.
• Prepare and coordinate engineering documentation including BOMs and specifications.
• Coordinate technical requirements such as compressed air, electrical power and interfaces.
• Collaborate with SSI SCHAEFER product centres, suppliers and customers to resolve challenges and manage changes.
• Provide engineering support through procurement, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Manage engineering deliverables and identify risks affecting scope, cost, schedule or performance.
