SSI SCHAEFER is seeking a System Integration Manager to lead integration across automation projects, coordinating with project managers, engineers, suppliers and customers from early design through go-live. The role requires strong expertise in system integration and hands-on experience with automation environments.
You will ensure interfaces are aligned with customer needs, manage risks, and provide technical oversight during commissioning, testing and acceptance.
There's real satisfaction in seeing a complex automation system come together - and knowing you helped make it work.
At SSI SCHAEFER, our automation projects bring together equipment, controls, software and third-party systems to help customers store and move goods efficiently. Making those elements work as one takes technical depth, practical judgement and people who can connect the right expertise.
With new projects coming on stream, we're looking for a System Integration Manager to join us in this newly created role.
You’ll take the technical lead on system integration across our automation projects, working alongside project managers, engineers, suppliers and customers from early design through commissioning, acceptance and go-live.
The variety is part of the appeal. You might be reviewing how a proposed solution will fit together, helping teams resolve an interface issue, or working on site to establish whether the complete system performs as it should. You’ll keep sight of the customer’s operational needs while bringing structure and clarity to technical decisions along the way.
Your contribution will include:
This is a technical leadership role with no direct reports. Your impact will come through your expertise, judgement and ability to work effectively across teams.
You’ll have demonstrated experience in system integration, automation engineering or system integration management, with project delivery experience in automated warehouses, manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
You’ll understand how equipment, controls and software interact - and be comfortable investigating problems that cross those boundaries. Just as importantly, you’ll be able to explain technical issues clearly, work constructively with customers and suppliers, and help people reach practical decisions.
We’re also looking for:
Experience in network planning, Siemens PLC troubleshooting or Power BI would be useful.
This role offers the opportunity to follow complex automation projects through to operation, see the results of your work on site and contribute to the technical capability of our ANZ business.
You’ll be based at Norwest, with hybrid working and significant time on customer sites during commissioning, testing and go-live. Occasional regional travel may also be required.
