Port of Hastings Corporation on the Mornington Peninsula is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Civil & Structural) to lead engineering design, assurance and delivery of major infrastructure for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal (VRET).
You will oversee quay walls, marine structures, piling systems and landside works, coordinating with design consultants, contractors and stakeholders to manage interfaces and risks, ensuring safe, high‑quality outcomes aligned with scope, cost and schedule.
Located in Western Port on the Mornington Peninsula (70km south-east of Melbourne), the Port of Hastings is a Victorian state-owned commercial port. The Port of Hastings Corporation (PoHC), a Victorian Government owned entity within the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) portfolio, manages landside port operations and infrastructure.
For 60 years, the Port has provided a critical gateway for Victoria’s supply chain and energy sectors, handling approximately 25% of Victoria’s fuel imports. PoHC is committed to operating a safe, sustainable and vibrant deep-water port, while supporting the State’s broader transport, infrastructure and economic objectives.
With the development of the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal (VRET), PoHC is also playing an important role in Victoria’s clean energy transition and supporting the future of offshore wind. VRET represents a significant opportunity to support the delivery of major renewable energy infrastructure and establish the Port of Hastings as a key component of Victoria’s future offshore wind industry.
We’re looking for someone who brings the right mix of experience, capability and approach to be successful in the role.
Join the Design & Construction Team as Senior Project Engineer (Civil & Structural), leading engineering design, technical assurance and delivery of major infrastructure packages for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal (VRET).
You will lead the engineering management of quay walls, marine structures, piling systems, reinforced concrete works, heavy‑duty pavements and associated landside infrastructure. Working with multidisciplinary design consultants, contractors and stakeholders, you will coordinate design development, manage technical interfaces and risks, review construction methodologies and contractor designs, and support procurement and construction delivery. You will help ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes aligned with project scope, cost, schedule, environmental requirements and long‑term operational needs.

We are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued for who they are. We warmly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTIQA+ individuals, and people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
