Job summary

UGL Pty Limited in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Fire Services (Wet & Dry) to lead the delivery of all fire protection works on a major hyperscale data centre project. Reporting to the MEP Project Manager, you will manage specialist fire services subcontractors from procurement through testing, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering fire services packages on major construction projects.

• Experience delivering data centres, hospitals, defence facilities, airports, laboratories or large-scale commercial developments is highly regarded.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced project environments and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of wet and dry fire systems, ensuring safe, compliant installation and achievement of project milestones.
• Manage fire subcontractors, resources, procurement and productivity to maintain programme, cost and quality outcomes.
• Coordinate fire protection interfaces across mechanical, electrical, BMS, security, civil and architectural disciplines.
• Review and control technical submissions, design changes, RFIs and variations to ensure compliance with the approved fire strategy.
• Plan and execute testing, commissioning and integrated systems verification, driving defect resolution and certification.
• Deliver complete project handover documentation, training, approvals and operational acceptance for seamless occupancy.

UGL is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Fire Services (Wet & Dry) - to join the team delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Melbourne. Reporting to the MEP Project Manager, and working with the MEP Construction Manager and Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of the delivery of all fire protection works across the project, leading and managing specialist fire services subcontractors from procurement and installation through testing, commissioning and handover. This site-based role requires practical delivery experience across wet fire services and dry fire detection, alarm and emergency warning systems, including their interfaces with other building services. This is a unique opportunity to work on one of Australia's most technically complex construction projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical infrastructure while leveraging the global expertise of ACS Group, HOCHTIEF, Turner and Leighton Asia.

Key Responsibilities

About You
