Job summary

Talesca is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our project delivery team on a permanent basis for utility-scale BESS projects in Australia. The role is site-based in Dubbo NSW with DIDO or FIFO depending on location, offering hands-on delivery across construction and commissioning.

You will coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, review drawings, manage RFIs and coordinate subcontractors and OEMs, while monitoring schedule, cost and risk.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical, electromechanical or related project-delivery experience.
• Experience with EPC, head contractor or electrical contractor environments.
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities on utility-scale BESS projects.
• Review drawings and specifications; manage RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications.
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs across project scopes.
• Monitor programme, risks and commercial matters including forecasting and variations.
• Support WHSEQ, quality documentation, testing, commissioning and close-out activities.

The Company

Our client is an established EPC contractor delivering utility-scale renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects across Australia.

With a growing pipeline of energy storage projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Project Engineer to join their project delivery team on a permanent basis.

The Role

This is a hands-on project delivery role supporting a utility-scale BESS project through construction and commissioning. The position will be site based in Dubbo NSW, operating on either a DIDO or FIFO arrangement depending on your location.

Working as part of an experienced EPC delivery team, you will gain broad exposure across the project lifecycle and take ownership of key interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Following completion of the Dubbo project, you will transition onto the company’s next major project, providing long-term continuity and a clear pathway towards Project Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities across utility-scale BESS projects
• Review drawings and specifications, and manage RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs across allocated project scopes
• Monitor programme, risks and commercial matters, including forecasting, progress claims and variations
• Support WHSEQ, quality documentation, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities

About You

• Strong electrical, electromechanical or related project-delivery experience
• Experience working for an EPC, head contractor or electrical contractor
• Utility-scale BESS experience is highly regarded, although relevant solar PV or substation experience will be considered
• Strong commercial, programme and technical coordination capability
• A hands‑on approach with strong communication skills and a genuine willingness to work on site
• A Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
