Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Project Controls Leader to join the AUKUS team in Osborne, South Australia. You will establish and lead planning, scheduling, reporting and forecasting across design, procurement, construction and handover, ensuring robust controls and governance.

You will collaborate with diverse teams to align delivery objectives, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement of project controls systems for Australia’s largest defence infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in Project Controls on major infrastructure, defence, transport, energy or construction projects.
• Experience leading project controls teams across large and complex programmes.
• Knowledge of project controls methodologies, governance, forecasting, reporting and schedule management.
• Ability to develop and manage integrated programmes and identify delivery risks.
• Experience implementing project controls systems and improving reporting and forecasting processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Controls function with planning, controls, reporting and forecasting processes.
• Provide strategic leadership across scheduling, progress measurement and governance.
• Develop and assure integrated project programmes across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Monitor performance against baselines and identify risks and opportunities.
• Drive accurate reporting and forecasting with timely insights for leadership and client stakeholders.
• Ensure milestones and resources are identified and managed throughout the lifecycle.
• Champion digital engineering and visual planning to enhance delivery certainty.
• Collaborate with construction, engineering, commercial and client teams to align outcomes.
