Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Senior Production Technician with expertise in theatre audio and technical event systems to join our team in Rockhampton. You’ll support live events, performances, and exhibitions, delivering advanced audio and technical services across venues.

You will lead and supervise teams as required, participate in bump-ins and bump-outs, and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest industry standards. A satisfactory Police Check is required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Theatre & Events (or equivalent demonstrated industry qualification).
• Significant experience within a similar role.
• Construction Industry Induction (White Card) and Working with Children (Blue Card).

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced audio and technical services for theatre, galleries, and cultural events.
• Support live events, performances, and exhibitions across Rockhampton’s venues.
• Lead and supervise teams as required to meet event requirements and timelines.

• Rotating Roster – 76 hours per fortnight
• $99,247 per annum (LGIA Stream B Major Venues Level 4 + 30% (SWA 4B)) + Superannuation
• Location – Rockhampton

Your new role

Rockhampton Regional Council is looking for a skilled Senior Production Technician with expertise in theatre audio and technical event systems to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you’ll support a variety of live events, performances, and exhibitions, working across Rockhampton’s premier venues. You will provide advanced audio and technical services, for our theatre’s, galleries, and cultural events. Participate in event bump-ins and bump-outs, and ensure all equipment is operated and maintained to the highest industry standards.

Enjoy a 76-hour fortnight on a roster system, with opportunities for overtime and the ability to accrue TOIL. This position offers a strong work-life balance and the chance to contribute to delivering high-quality cultural and community events. As part of this dynamic team, you will also have opportunities for professional growth and cross-discipline support.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Application Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in Theatre & Events (or equivalent demonstrated industry qualification) and significant experience within similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, and supervise the use of advance technical system specialising in the operation of Audio equipment.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and supervise teams to ensure event requirements are delivered within requirement timeframes.
