Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment client in Blacktown, NSW is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead a large manufacturing operation, overseeing machining and assembly and directing a 70+ person workforce. You will drive production planning to meet customer and business targets while collaborating with maintenance and quality teams.

You will bring strong leadership, hands-on manufacturing experience, and a proven track record of achieving KPIs, safety standards and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience managing a manufacturing or fabrication operation.
• Experience leading a workforce of 50+ within a larger production environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly or similar processes.
• Proven track record of achieving KPIs and operational performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a production workforce of 70+ employees.
• Oversee daily machining and assembly operations.
• Plan and coordinate production to meet customer and business requirements.
• Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor production performance, KPIs and targets.
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
• Develop, coach and mentor supervisors and production personnel.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Work closely with maintenance to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Manage production resources, labour and workflow.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture across the site.
• Collaborate with senior management to achieve broader business objectives.
