Job summary

Austal is seeking a Production Engineer to join its Engineering Program Delivery team in Western Australia. The role bridges engineering designs with Fitout manufacturing processes, supporting production teams to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives.

You will review drawings, develop practical production solutions, and identify opportunities for process automation. The ideal candidate has extensive shipbuilding experience and a track record in delivering complex fabrication programs within

Qualifications

Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification.
10+ years trade qualified experience in shipbuilding/defence/heavy manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of interior fitout shipbuilding, construction practices.
Ability to review drawings and specifications to resolve production issues.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and CAD-based software.

Responsibilities

Review technical drawings, specifications and plans.
Provide practical solutions to resolve production issues and design constraints.
Support production teams.
Develop, implement, and refine production processes.
Identify opportunities for process automation and integration of new technologies.
Conduct root cause analysis for production challenges and implement corrective solutions.
