Austal is seeking a Fabrication Coordinator to lead production planning on vessel builds. You will ensure Supervisors and Contractors understand clear plans, coordinate with trades, and drive on-time, in-full delivery to quality standards in a safe environment.

You’ll apply strong leadership to coach teams, manage schedules, monitor progress, and escalate risks. Proficiency in MS Office, Pronto, Primavera, and AutoCAD/Navisworks is desirable, with a focus on continuous improvement and OHS

Formación

• Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience.
• Strong technical and construction knowledge of Austal vessels.
• Proven leadership, able to motivate and manage people.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and time-management skills.
• Understanding of organisational policies including HSEQ and HR.

Responsabilidades

• Develop a clear weekly activity plan with Supervisors and Contractors.
• Review and coordinate planning, design, supply chain and project deliverables to ensure schedule alignment.
• Collaborate with Trades, Supervisors and PCM to deliver clear weekly activity plans.
• Ensure timely delivery of design information, materials, parts, tools and resources to support production (JIT to point of use).
• Coordinate resource allocation and inter-departmental work orders to maintain workflow.
• Provide visible leadership on the production floor and promote a safety-first culture.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, quality requirements and organisational procedures.
• Monitor build progress, material flow and schedule adherence; escalate risks as required.
• Support Supervisors through coaching and workforce development.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives, waste reduction and effective issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate weekly schedule reporting and ensure product conformance prior to customer checks.
