Qualifications

Contract Senior / Lead Product Designer | Champion the Customer Experience

We have partnered with one of Australia’s most recognizable brands to secure a seasoned Senior or Lead Product Designer on a contract basis.

In this role, you will embed directly into a high-performing product squad to champion the end-to-end customer experience, driving product innovation from concept through to scaled launch. You will play a pivotal role in bridging user needs with strategic business outcomes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Role Type: Contract
• Daily Rate: $900 - $1,000 + Super (Competitive)
• Location: Sydney (2 days on-site per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Champion the Customer: Drive world-class UI/UX design, transforming complex user problems into intuitive, high-impact digital experiences across web and mobile platforms.
• End-to-End Delivery: Take ownership of the design process - from initial conception and low/high-fidelity interactive prototyping to MVP and full-scale adoption.
• Strategic & Commercial Alignment: Apply a commercial mindset to identify product evolution versus iteration opportunities, ensuring design strategies align with the squad and tribe’s overarching vision and metrics.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with multidisciplinary teams—including Product Managers, Engineers, Motion/Visual Designers, and Strategic Leads - fostering an open environment for design jams, critiques, and continuous improvement.
• Process & Standards Excellence: Leverage Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design (HCD), and Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) while promoting accessibility best practices across all digital touchpoints.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Experience: 5+ years of UI/UX design experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, backed by proven enterprise-level experience and product leadership expertise.
• Portfolio: A great portfolio/folio showcasing your end-to-end design process, interactive prototyping, and delivered product outcomes across web and mobile platforms.
• Education: Degree in HCI, Human Factors, Information Science, Computer Science (UX/UI emphasis), Graphic Design (UX/UI emphasis), or equivalent practical experience.
• Design & Prototyping Craft: Hands-on expertise building interactive prototypes using modern tools, alongside practical experience with tools such as Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, ZeroHeight, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Delivery & Accountability: Demonstrated history of accountability and performance delivery, consistently driving products to meet or exceed business objectives.
• Mindset & Leadership: An entrepreneurial spirit, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to operate collaboratively and transparently across a matrixed organization.
• Accessibility & Frameworks: Solid understanding of accessibility principles across devices, alongside practical experience operating within Agile, Lean, and HCD environments.
