Job summary

BHP Group is seeking an Experienced Processing Technician for its Prominent Hill copper operation in South Australia. You will manage crushing, grinding, flotation, and filtration processes, ensuring safe access for maintenance and adherence to procedures.

The role includes a 8/6 roster and permanent full-time employment at Prominent Hill. Ideal candidates bring strong safety leadership, teamwork, and a track record in lean improvement programmes, with relevant certifications and a valid

Qualifications

• Highly experienced in minerals processing operations.
• Experience in paste plant operations desirable.
• Understanding of crushing and grinding circuits.
• Experience with filtration, tails dam operations, and flotation.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across the processing plant and shift team.
• Participate in Lean improvement programmes to support continuous improvement.
• Foster an inclusive site culture and strong team collaboration.
• Maintain housekeeping standards for safe daily operation and asset integrity.
• Develop competency in plant operations and onboarding processes.
• Work with technical staff to meet throughput, recovery, and cost targets.
• Coordinate with other departments to maximise value across the asset chain.
• Follow shift leadership directions to perform tasks safely and competently.
• Build capability in crushing, grinding, flotation, filtering, and tails dam operations.
• Follow detailed procedures to enable safe access for maintenance.
