Job summary

PLS in Western Australia is seeking a qualified Process Engineer to provide specialist process engineering, technical, administrative and leadership support during plant commissioning, ramp-up and steady-state operations at the Mid-Stream Demonstration Plant. The 12-month maximum term role operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical or chemical conversion processes, ideally in lithium processing or remote mining operations.
• Strong technical understanding of processing techniques, unit operations, plant instrumentation, and downtime reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist process engineering support across commissioning, start-up, ramp-up and steady-state operations.
• Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to improve stability and production outcomes.
• Drive plant optimisation and debottlenecking across pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical areas.
• Develop, review and maintain process documentation, control strategies and commissioning records.
• Support QA, sampling systems, incident investigations and change management.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, vendors and contractors to promote a safe, high-performing team culture.
