Job summary

Alpha HPA is a publicly listed Australian company leading the world in high purity alumina production. The Senior Process Engineer provides technical direction to the site team through Operational Readiness, Commissioning and ongoing operations at the Stage One HPA First Project in Yarwun.

The role is based at the Gladstone region site, guiding process improvements, ensuring safety, and driving best practices to maximise on-spec production while mentoring engineers and solving complex problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Process or Chemical Engineering with 8+ years in manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading improvement projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• RPEQ certification preferable.
• Experience in chemical handling/processing environments and Major Hazard Facility familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, health and environmental rules are followed.
• Develop technical capabilities of engineers and operations staff.
• Provide technical support with clear operating instructions to production and maintenance teams.
• Lead changes and improvements with proper change management.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and operating instructions.
• Lead root cause problem solving and produce corrective actions.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and develop best practices to improve production rates and quality.
