Job summary

Ausenco in Perth CBD is seeking Senior Process Engineers to join our team. You will lead process engineering design from concept to detail, deliver PFDs and P&IDs, and collaborate with the wider project team.

You will mentor graduates, liaise with stakeholders, manage design changes, and help deliver sustainable solutions across mining and mineral processing projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience in mill, concentrator and/or metallurgical plant design – base/precious metals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Operational mine experience including plant improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure process engineering design aligns with study scope & objectives.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs and Process Design Criteria (PDC).
• Mentor other Process Engineers and Graduates within the team.
• Liaise with stakeholders on technical aspects and provide progress updates to Project Manager.

We are currently recruiting for Senior Process Engineers to join our team in our Perth CBD office.

About the role

• Ensure process engineering design and documentation is consistent with study and project scope & objectives.
• Develop and assist in development of the following:
• Process Design Criteria (PDC)
• Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
• Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Control philosophies and tables
• Process equipment sizing
• Heat and mass balances and models,
• Trade-off studies, operating cost estimates & high-level financial models etc.
• Provide process engineering and mineral processing expertise all the way through engineering phases from conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design and similarly develop connections in the wider Ausenco to leverage capabilities.
• Apply innovative solutions and technological developments that bring greater value to clients
• Mentor other Process Engineers and Graduates within the team
• Work in collaboration with the broader team
• Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
• Develop technical specifications and designs to meet project specific objectives
• Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
• Resolve technical and design issues
• Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
• Providing regular updates to the Project Manager including work progress, risks, and priorities

About you

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or similar.
• Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
• Experienced in mill, concentrator and/or metallurgical plant design – particularly for base and precious metals
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify underlying principles or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
• Operational experience at mines, mineral processing or metallurgical facilities, including managing operational performance and plant improvement projects
