Job summary

Peabody's Centurion Mine near Mackay is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support ramp up and ongoing optimisation of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will drive plant performance and recovery through technical expertise and continuous improvement.

You will work with operations to deliver coaching, oversee laboratory activities, identify improvement opportunities, monitor performance, and contribute to budgeting and risk management, ensuring

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience across mineral comminution, beneficiation and solid/liquid separation technologies.
  • Strong CHPP operational and technical experience.
  • Knowledge of production and maintenance management principles.
  • Understanding of control systems and process optimisation techniques.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety and risk management.
  • Collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to ramp up and ongoing operation of the CHPP.

The Opportunity

Peabody is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful ramp up and ongoing optimisation of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). Your focus will be on maximising plant performance, improving product recovery and driving operational excellence through technical expertise and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Impact
  • Provide technical support and advice to ensure the successful ramp up and ongoing operation of the processing plant.
  • Partner with operational teams to deliver coaching and technical guidance that improves plant efficiency.
  • Oversee onsite laboratory activities, ensuring safe and effective support of operational requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
