Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Expertise in tailings, dams, mine waste or complex geotechnical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of ANCOLD, GISTM, ICOLD and CDA.
• Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Rocscience, FLAC or similar.
• Chartered professional status or eligibility to obtain registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, assessment and delivery of tailings storage facilities, dams, mine waste facilities and associated infrastructure.
• Provide senior technical oversight across geotechnical investigations, slope stability, seepage analysis and dam safety assessments.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliver complex projects from concept through to completion.
• Undertake technical reviews, prepare engineering reports and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across mining, resources and water sectors.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals, tenders and project development.
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers.
• Potentially undertake Engineer of Record responsibilities, subject to experience and qualifications.

The Opportunity

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced geotechnical engineering professional with a strong consulting background, excellent technical capabilities and the confidence to engage with clients at a senior level.

You will ideally possess:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 15+ years' relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in tailings, dams, mine waste or complex geotechnical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards including ANCOLD, GISTM, ICOLD and CDA.
• Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Rocscience, FLAC or similar.
• Proven project management, technical leadership and team mentoring experience.
• Strong communication skills and an established ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Chartered professional status or eligibility to obtain registration, highly regarded.
