IT Alliance Australia is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Database Administrator Expert – PostgreSQL) to join a federal government client across Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. The role requires NV1 security clearance and offers a 12-month contract with possible 24-month extensions.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining PostgreSQL environments, implementing IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and secure access controls. Some out-of-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ PostgreSQL database administration experience.

Responsabilités

• Configure and manage HADR replication cluster using EDB failover manager (EFM).
• Install, configure and administer PEM, including agent deployment, database registration and performance monitoring.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for PostgreSQL deployments.
• Design, deploy and maintain PostgreSQL deployments using Ansible CI/CD pipelines across RHEL OpenShift and VMware environments.
• Configure ArgoCD deployments and integrate with GitLab.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies including PITR and WAL archiving.
• Configuring and maintaining PostgreSQL authentication using LDAP/AD integration and RBAC.
• Automate PostgreSQL administration with scripting and DevOps tools.
• Maintain enterprise monitoring/logging and resolve complex DB/OS incidents.
