Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (Victoria) seeks a Senior Policy Officer to help reshape the state's water entitlement framework and translate complex policy, legal and technical issues into practical reform.

You will work with Traditional Owners, government and the water sector in a hybrid, fixed-term 0.6 FTE for 12 months, contributing to culturally informed policies and improved water governance.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of water resource management and Victoria’s water entitlements and allocation framework.
• Understanding of legislation, regulatory frameworks and policy instruments for reform.
• Ability to interpret and apply policy to inform legislative and regulatory reform.

Responsibilities

• Shape Victoria’s water entitlement framework for future generations.
• Turn complex policy, legal and technical issues into practical solutions.
• Improve Traditional Owner access to, ownership of and influence over water.
• Work alongside Traditional Owners, government and the water sector.
