Job summary
NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Corrective Services NSW in Junee is seeking a Senior Plumber to lead maintenance at the Junee Correctional Centre. You will supervise trades, mentor inmates and staff, and ensure safe, efficient operations across essential facilities.
The role blends plumbing expertise with leadership, shaping pathways for inmates while delivering hands-on maintenance. On-call duties and travel to sites are involved; experience in TMV/backflow and gas systems is
Qualifications
- Plumber with NSW plumbing qualifications and current licence or supervisor cert.
- Certificate III in Correctional Practice or ability to complete within specified timeframes.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive to locations as required.
- Participation in an on-call rotational roster is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor inmates and staff while overseeing essential maintenance at the centre.
- Combine trade skills with leadership to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Foster a positive team culture and drive operational excellence within the unit.
