Job summary

Traild is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to own the cloud-native platform, from architecture through deployment and operation. You will design, implement, and scale infrastructure on GCP, manage IaC with Terraform, and operate Cloud Run and Kubernetes at production scale.

Qualifications

• Experience with GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Cloud Run.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
• Strong observability skills with logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tooling.
• Knowledge of cloud security and secure delivery practices.
• Collaborative and customer-focused mindset; Melbourne-based is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and scale infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Operate Cloud Run and Kubernetes in production at scale.
• Architect cloud networking: VPCs, load balancers, firewalls, routing.
• Embed security best practices across infra and tooling.
• Design, build and maintain internal developer tooling to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline with automated testing and safe deployments.
• Improve local development parity between dev and production.
• Establish build and deployment automation best practices.
• Own observability systems: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting; reduce MTTR.
