Job summary

Traild is seeking a hands-on technical leader to join our Platform Engineering team in Sydney, shaping the cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that power every product. You will lead a small team, stay close to code, own GCP infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, CI/CD, observability and FinOps, and set the strategy with executive alignment.

You’ll combine deep cloud experience with people leadership, growing engineers, and delivering reliable, cost-efficient platform

Qualifications

• Led a small engineering team or been the most senior engineer on a team and remained technical.
• Deep experience with production-scale cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS).
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and observability.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and roadmap for Platform.
• Own the reliability, performance and cost of the cloud footprint (GCP/AWS).
• Improve developer experience: CI/CD, tooling, observability.
• Stay hands-on as a working team member while mentoring others.
• Grow and support engineers as the team expands.
• Own incident response and operational health.
