Job summary

Macquarie Group is building Verdi, its next-generation cloud platform to help engineers create, deploy and operate cloud services. You will design and evolve core capabilities, build scalable services and automation, and embed security and governance into the developer experience.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate development across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex technology solutions in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Go or Python, building reliable services and scalable platform capabilities.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, IAM, S3, VPC, CloudWatch) and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and automation (GitHub Copilot).
• Strong collaboration and ability to mentor engineers and communicate with stakeholders.

What role will you play?

In this role you will help design, develop and evolve core capabilities within our cloud platform. You will build software, automation and cloud services that improve how engineers work, while embedding security, governance and operational controls into the developer experience. You will also support and mentor engineers through coaching, collaboration and technical guidance.

What You Offer

• Demonstrated experience as a senior software engineer, platform engineer or cloud engineer delivering complex technology solutions in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Go or Python, building reliable services, automation solutions and scalable platform capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, modern software engineering practices and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with AWS services such as Organizations, EC2, EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch and S3, alongside infrastructure as code and cloud platform engineering
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and automation technologies, including GitHub Copilot or similar platforms.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills, with the ability to coach engineers, influence technical direction and communicate effectively with technical and senior stakeholders.
• Beneficial to have experience with agentic applications and AI-driven workflows.
