It leads platform improvement, onboarding patterns, automation, monitoring, DevSecOps practices and operational governance to enable reliable service delivery and future growth. The role also acts as a trusted advisor, uplifting capability across teams, promoting reusable engineering patterns, and ensuring platform decisions balance business value, security, data governance, operational risk and long-term enterprise sustainability for UNSW’s emerging data management needs and responsible AI-enabled service innovation at scale agenda.

The role reports to Lead Solution Architect - MDM and Data and may have direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:
  • Provide senior technical leadership for the design, operation and continuous evolution of UNSW’s Master Data Management platform, Customer 360 capability and associated Informatica IDMC services.
  • Shape the platform strategy and technical roadmap for Informatica Cloud, ensuring alignment with UNSW’s data management, digital transformation, integration, automation and responsible AI priorities.
  • Translate complex and ambiguous business, data and integration requirements into clear platform approaches, technical patterns and secure, scalable, value-driven solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of reliable, supportable and enterprise-ready platform services across Informatica IDMC/IICS, Azure, AWS and related integration environments.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new data domains, applications, integrations, users and business services onto the MDM platform, ensuring appropriate architectural, security, operational and governance controls are embedded from the outset.
  • Apply systems thinking to analyse data flows, platform dependencies, integration points, APIs, cloud services, security constraints and operational risks across UNSW’s technology ecosystem.
  • Establish and uplift reusable platform patterns, standards, runbooks, automation scripts, monitoring frameworks and operational playbooks that improve consistency, resilience and delivery efficiency.
  • Lead platform reliability, availability and performance management, including monitoring of platform health, job execution, integration performance, runtime environments, service availability, alerts, logs and operational events.
  • Drive continuous improvement of platform operations through automation of repeatable administration, monitoring, deployment, alerting, incident response and service management processes.

  • Provide trusted technical advice to the Head of MDM, architects, cybersecurity, cloud, integration, application and business teams on platform design, service onboarding, operational readiness and sustainable support models.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to clarify needs, assess feasibility, balance risk and value, and shape platform solutions that support current and future institutional data management needs.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, remediation and escalation for complex incidents affecting Informatica Cloud, Customer 360, Azure services, AWS connectivity and related integration services.
