Job summary

Built is seeking a Senior Planner to strengthen our planning and programming services across business units, ensuring standards are maintained and performance is monitored against programmes.

The role blends New Business and Construction delivery, developing tender and construction programmes, providing strategic advice to Bid Leaders, and guiding the planning team while maintaining on-site project programmes and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role across Engineering or Construction, Project Management, Operations, Procurement & Bids.
• Experience on projects of similar scale is desirable.
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying

Responsibilities

• New Business: develop tender and construction programmes, provide strategic advice to Bid Leaders in submissions, present to clients, and assist in managing other planning team members.
• Delivery: develop and maintain the project programme for use on site, advise on time/resource matters, report progress, and keep the site team informed of status.

About the role

This is a new role with the purpose to continue & improve Built’s planning and programming services across the business units, while also maintaining requirements and standards for the ongoing monitoring of performance against programmes.

The Senior Planner’s role has a dual purpose between New Business and Construction delivery needs. New Business requires your role to develop tender and construction programmes, provide key strategic advice to Bid Leaders in the formalities of submissions, undertake presentations to clients and to assist in managing other members of the planning team from time to time.

From a delivery perspective, a Planner’s role is to develop and maintain the project program for use on site, and provide information to the wider site team about what is required of the project program, to actively engage in the implementation of the program by providing advice on all time related and resource related matters, to report progress and to ensure team awareness of the project status at all times.

Key Skills & Experience

Professional

• Previous experience with client relationships
• Must be able to work in a cross functional role to develop a construction plan with inputs from the various operations groups.
• Experience in relevant programming software: Asta Power Project, MS project & Primavera P6.

Personal

• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Strong communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to guide, influence and convince others and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to client requirements
• Sound analytical and stakeholder relations skills
• Is innovative and has the ability to solve problems
