Senior Planner (Full‑time, Mid‑Senior Level)

Location: Nelson, New South Wales, Australia

About the role

This is a new Senior Planner role with the purpose to continue & improve Built’s planning and programming services across the business units, while also maintaining requirements and standards for ongoing monitoring of performance against programmes.

The Senior Planner’s role has a dual purpose between New Business and Construction delivery needs. New Business requires your role to develop tender and construction programmes, provide key strategic advice to Bid Leaders, undertake presentations to clients and assist in managing other members of the planning team from time to time.

From a delivery perspective, a Planner’s role is to develop and maintain the project program for use on site, provide information to the wider site team about what is required of the project program, actively engage in the implementation of the program by providing advice on all time‑related and resource‑related matters, report progress, and ensure team awareness of the project status at all times.

Key Skills & Experience

• Previous experience with client relationships
• Must be able to work in a cross‑functional role to develop a construction plan with inputs from the various operations groups.
• Experience in relevant programming software: Asta Power Project, MS Project & Primavera P6.
• Self‑motivated, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to guide, influence and convince others, and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to client requirements.
• Sound analytical and stakeholder‑relations skills.
• Innovative and able to solve problems.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar role across Engineering or Construction, Project Management, Operations, Procurement & Bids.
• Experience on projects of similar scale is desirable.
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
