Part-time | Community-based | Central Coast, NSW
At Active Ability, disability isn't just one part of what we do — it's what we do.
We are a growing multidisciplinary allied health organisation specialising in mobile disability therapy across the lifespan. Our physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics and exercise physiology teams support people with neurological conditions, autism, intellectual disability and psychosocial disability to achieve greater independence, health and quality of life.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist who wants more than a job.
We want someone who is excited to develop their expertise, work alongside exceptional clinicians, tackle complex clinical challenges and make a genuine difference in the lives of people with disability.
We have deliberately built our physiotherapy department around clinical growth, mentorship and long-term career development.
When you join us, you won't be expected to figure out disability physiotherapy on your own.
You’ll have access to:
A structured 5-year program providing 30+ hours of professional development support every year, designed to take you from building your disability foundations through to developing specialist expertise.
You’ll receive structured onboarding with your Clinical Manager so you can confidently settle into your role, understand disability practice and develop your clinical skills.
Build the foundational knowledge and clinical skills required to work confidently across the disability sector before progressing into specialist development.
Once you've built your foundations, we’ll work with you to identify an area of disability physiotherapy you're passionate about and create an individualised development plan to help you become the expert and \"go-to\" clinician in that area. Active Ability will support you with both professional development funding and work time to help make that happen.
You’ll be supported by experienced senior physiotherapists and clinical leaders through regular supervision, case reviews, in-services, skill development and real-world clinical discussions.
Our physiotherapists work with clients with complex neurological and disability presentations, including spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, Huntington's disease, cerebral palsy and rare neurological conditions.
You’ll work closely with OTs, speech pathologists, behaviour support practitioners, dietitians, exercise physiologists, support workers, support coordinators, GPs and other professionals.
We work across the lifespan, with clients ranging from children through to adults aged 90. As a capacity‑building service, our goal is to provide the right intervention at the right time — and discharge clients when they have achieved their goals.
Work in the community, work from home when appropriate, manage your own diary and work independently while knowing that experienced clinicians and management are there when you need support.
We’re passionate, driven and serious about the quality of our clinical work — but we also believe work should be enjoyable. You’ll join a team of like‑minded clinicians who want to make a difference and have fun while doing it.
Our purpose is simple:
To empower the disability community.
Our long‑term goal is to empower 10,000 people within the disability community over the next 10 years.
Our culture is built around four core values:
Compassion – for all. The willingness and empathy to help others.
Integrity – We do the right thing in all circumstances, even when nobody is watching.
Dedication – to meet our promises, to achieve goals. We are a helpful resource.
People‑focused – We put people first. We respect, value and empower them.
We’re ambitious about what we’re building and proud of what we’ve already achieved, including being recognised as Most Outstanding Allied Health Organisation at the Australian Disability Service Awards and ESSA Practice of the Year.
But our biggest achievement is the impact our clinicians have on the people we support every day.
If you want to build a career where your clinical expertise can genuinely change someone's life, we'd love to meet you.
This is a part‑time (2-3dpw), community-based Senior Physiotherapist position on the Central Coast, NSW. We would absolutely consider full time for the right applicant.
You will provide mobile physiotherapy services to people with disability in their homes and community environments.
