NostraData Pty is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own significant areas of our core PHP/Laravel platform. You will design, build, test and release features, mentor peers, and help shape the product with direct stakeholder influence.

This role is a hands-on leadership position with an initial six-month full-time contract in Melbourne. You will collaborate with a Technical Lead and a small Product Engineering team, drive milestones, review code, and modernise legacy PHP while ensuring

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional PHP development experience with Laravel or equivalent framework.
• Strong MySQL/PostgreSQL/HTML/CSS/JS skills and API integration experience.
• Experience leading a small development team or acting as senior technical reference.

Responsabilités

• Deliver end-to-end features in PHP/Laravel from design to release.
• Own substantial areas of the platform and milestones across priorities.
• Collaborate with Technical Lead to plan in Jira and sequence work across sprints.
• Lead thoughtful code reviews and modernise legacy PHP with maintainable Laravel patterns.
• Protect production reliability, security and performance for client systems.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and provide clear technical guidance.
• Apply AI coding tools responsibly and validate outputs and edge cases.
• Clarify requirements with clients and internal teams, explaining trade-offs clearly.
