Job summary

Randstad is recruiting a Senior PHP Engineer to join a Tier 1 Australian financial institution in Sydney. You will design, build and deploy modern PHP applications within a cloud-native, decoupled architecture.

You will lead architectural decisions, build proof-of-concepts, and ensure resilient code for critical platform components, working with cross-functional teams to drive platform evolution and performance.

Join a high performing engineering group within a leading Tier 1 Australian financial institution. We are embarking on a major platform evolution, rebuilding and scaling a market leading strata operational platform using modern cloud technologies and decoupled architectures.

The Role

As a Senior PHP Engineer, you will play a central role in driving strategic change across our core platform. You will collaborate closely with cross functional product teams, domain experts, and software architects to design, build, and deploy modern PHP applications. You will balance short term delivery goals with long term aspirational cloud architecture, leading design decisions, building proof of concepts, and writing resilient code for critical platform components.

• Core Language: Modern PHP (8.x) microservices and service oriented architectures
• Database & Performance: MySQL optimization, advanced query tuning, complex indexing
