Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service seeks a Senior Pharmacist (Outreach) to deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services across Mount Isa and remote sites. The role combines leadership with medicines optimization, delivering outreach visits, telehealth, and education to staff and students.

You will participate in service improvement, support medication safety, and contribute to across‑regional healthcare access. AHPRA registration and a relevant Pharmacy degree are required.

About the roleAs Senior Pharmacist (Outreach), you will provide expert clinical pharmacy services across North West Hospital and Health Service, supporting safe and effective medicines management in Mount Isa and surrounding regional and remote facilities. Combining clinical expertise with leadership and service improvement, you will help strengthen pharmacy practice and improve access to quality care across the region.Deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services through onsite outreach visits, telehealth and other innovative approaches.Provide clinical guidance, supervision and education to pharmacy staff, students and multidisciplinary teams.Support medication safety, evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives across outreach services.Working with usEligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated.Professionally, our HHS values professionalism, leadership capability, excellence and resilience in our staff.
