Job summary

EnerMech is seeking experienced Permit Control Officers (PCO) – LV/HV and Authorised Isolators for a major Sydney Metro electrical access project. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and executing complex LV and HV isolations within a strict PTW framework across multiple live sites.

Successful candidates will work with a multi-disciplinary delivery team, ensuring safe access and compliance with rail authority procedures while maintaining thorough permit and switching documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in PCO, HV/LV isolation, or HV switching within rail or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of Permit to Work systems and high-risk work controls.
• Ability to develop and execute switching programs for LV/HV isolation.
• Experience interfacing with control authorities and site teams.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and procedural discipline.

Responsibilities

• Administer and control the PTW system across LV and HV works.
• Plan, develop, and execute LV/HV switching programs and isolations.
• Act as Authorised Isolator with locking, tagging and proving de-energisation.
• Perform HV switching on AC rail power distribution systems (11kV/33kV).
• Test for dead and prove isolation before issuing permits.
• Coordinate isolations across multiple rail sites and liaisons with NCO.
• Maintain permits, logs, and isolation documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Sydney Metro standards and rail safety rules.
