Job summary

PATH4 Group in Canberra is seeking a Senior Performance Tester (EL1) for a Canberra-based federal government project. The role focuses on assessing responsiveness, scalability, and stability under varying workloads, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality testing outcomes.

You will develop test strategies, design and execute test cases, perform performance testing, manage defect lifecycles, and mentor junior staff while contributing to ICT testing

Qualifications

  • Experience with test automation tools for scripting and execution.
  • Strong background in performance testing using LoadRunner or equivalent.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. ALM or equivalent).
  • Ability to manage test execution, regression testing, and defect tracking.
  • Familiarity with API testing and database querying.
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test strategies and test plans.

  • Perform performance testing to evaluate system scalability and reliability.
  • Create and maintain test scripts and ensure quality standards are met.

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, vendors, and technical teams to define test conditions.
  • Lead and coordinate test management activities across projects.
  • Provide reporting on test progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with government information management standards.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ICT testing practices and processes.

Senior Performance Tester (EL1) – Federal Government

Location: Canberra (Open to other Capital Cities)

Contract: 12 month contract starting September 2026 + numerous extensions

Security Clearance: NV1 clearance required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Tester to assess and ensure the responsiveness, scalability, and stability of systems under varying workloads.
