Job summary

Michael Page seeks a seasoned payroll leader to oversee a high-volume payroll function supporting a diverse workforce across multiple entities. This role combines people leadership, expert payroll knowledge, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, flexible environment.

The client is ASX-listed and experiencing rapid growth through acquisitions, with operations across several entities. Enjoy strong work-from-home flexibility (3 days in-office / 2 days WFH) and ongoing career development

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a complex, high-volume environment.
• Ability to lead or supervise a payroll team or coach others in a senior capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.
• Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate and timely processing of high-volume payrolls across multiple entities.
• Supervise and mentor payroll team members.
• Manage payroll activities across multiple entities ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll, remuneration and industrial relations queries.
• Ensure compliance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards and legislative requirements.
• Support payroll audits, reconciliations and reporting activities.
• Maintain payroll records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
