Job summary

Betashares Group is seeking a Senior Payroll & Systems Analyst to join the Payroll team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will own end-to-end monthly payroll for 300 FTE across Australia and New Zealand, combining payroll expertise with systems skills to drive accuracy, compliance and smarter workflows.

As the go-to user for Payforce ADP and Employment Hero, you will troubleshoot issues, support system enhancements and translate technical concepts into practical improvements for employees

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience with hands-on use of Payforce ADP and/or Employment Hero.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards, EBAs, STP reporting and multi-state payroll tax.
• Experience automating payroll workflows using native payroll-system functionality and AI/automation tools to improve processes.
• Ability to translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical colleagues.
• Service-oriented communication style when handling payroll queries from staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete monthly payroll lifecycle for 300 FTE across Australia and New Zealand, including onboarding, setup, processing, journals, entitlements, deductions, superannuation, terminations, EOFY reporting and issue resolution.
• Maintain compliance with Modern Awards, EBAs, PAYG obligations, multi-state payroll tax, workers compensation, superannuation and Fair Work requirements.
• Maintain payroll controls and secure employee and payroll records, protecting confidential information.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate payroll processes, designing and supporting workflow improvements to reduce manual touchpoints.
• Act as the system and power user for Payforce ADP and Employment Hero, troubleshoot issues, implement changes, and support automation.
• Build and maintain payroll SOPs and process documentation for reliable delivery to tight weekly deadlines.
• Serve as the primary payroll contact for employees and resolve queries with professional communication.
• Collaborate with P&C and management to improve payroll processes and ensure consistent adoption across teams.
