Betashares Capital seeks a Senior Payroll & Systems Analyst to lead end-to-end monthly payroll for 300 FTE across Australia and New Zealand, combining payroll expertise with systems capability to optimise the function.

You’ll be the go-to user for Payforce ADP and Employment Hero, drive smarter workflows, support system enhancements and translate technical concepts into practical improvements for staff and management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in payroll, with hands-on experience in Payforce ADP and/or Employment Hero.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards, EBAs, STP reporting and multi-state payroll tax.
  • Experience automating payroll workflows using native payroll-system functionality and AI or automation tools.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical colleagues.
  • Service-oriented communication skills, with confidence handling payroll queries from employees and clients directly.
  • High attention to detail, a process-improvement mindset and a track record of working to tight weekly deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete monthly payroll lifecycle for 300 FTE across Australia and New Zealand, including onboarding and payroll setup, pay processing, journals, entitlements, deductions, superannuation, terminations, EOFY reporting and issue resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with Modern Awards, EBAs, employment conditions, PAYG obligations, multi-state monthly payroll tax, workers compensation, superannuation and Fair Work requirements.
  • Maintain payroll controls and accurate, secure employee and payroll records, protecting confidential employee, client and payroll information.
  • Calculate relevant shared personnel services cost allocations and review compensation-related P&L items, providing commentary as required.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate payroll processes, designing and supporting workflow improvements that reduce manual touchpoints and improve processing efficiency.
  • Act as the system and power user for Payforce ADP and Employment Hero, troubleshooting issues, executing changes, supporting automation and system enhancements, and working with ADP managed services.
  • Build and maintain payroll SOPs and process documentation so key processes are clear, consistent and support reliable delivery to tight weekly deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary payroll contact for employees and resolve payroll queries with clear, professional and service-oriented communication.
  • Partner with P&C and management teams to improve payroll processes, share systems knowledge and strengthen consistency and adoption across teams.

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Payroll & Systems Analyst to join our Payroll team. This is a hands-on payroll and systems role with primary accountability for end-to-end monthly payroll across 300 FTE in Australia and New Zealand. You’ll combine payroll expertise with systems capability to keep payroll accurate and compliant while improving how the function operates.


The role is payroll and systems, focused on stakeholder and staff service.
