Job summary

News Corp Australia is seeking a payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll for a large organisation. The role covers weekly and monthly pay runs, interpretation of awards and EBA’s, and handling new starters and terminations. You will also manage payroll tax and respond to employee inquiries.

Key attributes include strong Excel skills, experience with Dayforce or Workday, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while supporting broader accounting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a large organisation.
• Proven Excel ability and tech savviness.
• Experience with Dayforce and Workday is highly desirable.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and enthusiastic.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to explain payroll matters clearly.
• Ability to meet deadlines and support accounting initiatives.
• Experience running complex pay runs adherent to modern awards and EBA’s.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage weekly and monthly pay runs.
• Review and submit weekly and monthly pay runs.
• Investigate and resolve incoming payroll queries from employees and managers.
• Contribute to SOX compliance processes and drive ad hoc improvements.
• Act as the primary contact for payroll-related questions regarding pay, timesheets, and leave balances.
