Job summary

Hays in Hobart is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a six-month term to support a large organisation’s payroll operations. The role focuses on hands-on payroll processing, data remediation, and long service leave calculations within a complex historical dataset.

Based in the Hobart CBD, you will tackle line-by-line data issues, coordinate remediation payments, and ensure compliance with legislative and award requirements while engaging with internal stakeholders to validate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience as payroll specialist in a medium to large organisation.
• Experience with data remediation and complex legacy data.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing support within a complex environment.
• Investigating and resolving payroll data issues.
• Performing long service leave, remediation and redundancy calculations.
• Working through fragmented or incomplete payroll data, applying detailed line-by-line calculations.
• Supporting remediation payments and corrections in line with legislative and award requirements.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to validate payroll data and outcomes.
• Ensuring accuracy, compliance and attention to detail across all payroll outcomes.
